OUR STORY

About OMEP?

OMEP is the world's leading early childhood development organisation, founded in 1948. It is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation working in more than 70 countries to protect the rights of all children from birth to the age of eight.

OMEP promotes work towards the realisation of the right to quality early childhood education. OMEP's many initiatives include training and skills development for early childhood professionals through conferences, seminars, courses and competitions.

Global collaboration

Through its scientific and pedagogical efforts in the field of early childhood education, OMEP collects and shares good practices, reports and documents to support constructive debates on the provision of high-quality education worldwide.

OMEP is also actively involved in public policy formulation and the development of high-quality early childhood education systems, working closely with UNICEF and other global organisations.

It is currently active on all continents and in 72 countries. OMEP Slovenia was founded on 1 March 2023 and was accepted as part of the global organisation at the World Assembly on 29 July 2023.

OMEP is advocating for high-quality, developmentally appropriate and relevant education for children from birth to the start of compulsory schooling.

OMEP has launched an award for the best examples of Education for Sustainable Development. You are invited to share your best practice with educators around the world. Please submit your entry by 31 March 2025.

Vabljeni, da se pridružite mednarodnemu umetniškemu projektu Obarvajmo svoje pravice in dolžnosti, ki ponuja otrokom edinstveno priložnost za raziskovanje, izražanje in razumevanje njihovih pravic ter dolžnosti skozi ustvarjalnost. Skupaj lahko oblikujemo svet, kjer so v ospredju mir, razumevanje in odgovornost. Svoj prispevek pošljite najkasneje do 1. aprila 2025.
